Hurricane Michael and other good news
Oct 09, 2018
A powerful hurricane is again threatening Florida as it moves north through the Gulf of Mexico toward Tallahassee. Currently, Michael is a Category 2 hurricane and is expected to be upgraded to a Category 3 storm before it strikes land.
The name Michael, of course, could well be an indication that the storm is an earthly manifestation of heavenly events (probably conflict/war in heaven), as seen in Revelation 12:7-9,
7 And there was war in heaven, Michael and his angels waging war with the dragon. And the dragon and his angels waged war, 8 and they were not strong enough, and there was no longer a place found for them in heaven. 9 And the great dragon was thrown down, the serpent of old who is called the devil and Satan; who deceives the whole world; he was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him.
Michael is also the angel of resurrection, as seen in Daniel 12:1, 2, for when Michael stands up, the dead also stand up with him.
But what about the name Tallahassee? The name is a Muscogee Indian name. Talwa means “town” and hasi means “old.” So we are told that the name means Old Town.
According to the book, Florida Place Names of Indian Origin by William A. Read, the name Tallahassee comes from the Muscogee Creek Indians who came here after the Apalachee were either killed or driven off in 1704. Talwa means “town” and hasi means “old,” hence “Old Town.” The Muscogee Creek people who arrived in the 1700s and early 1800s were aware of the Apalachee Indians before them, so they knew the area already had a long human history.
If we may assume that the forecasts are correct and that Tallahassee will be hit by Michael, we might conclude that Michael is coming to cast out “the serpent of old (town),” which would focus upon Babylon, one of the oldest cities in the world, built by Nimrod. Genesis 10:8-10 says,
8 Now Cush became the father of Nimrod; he became a mighty one on the earth. 9 He was a mighty hunter before the Lord; therefore it is said, “Like Nimrod a mightier before the Lord.” 10 And the beginning of his kingdom was Babel…
Tallahassee is the capital of Florida on an earthly level, but this current situation seems to indicate that it is now representing the capital of the Babylonian Empire, at least insofar as this sign is concerned. If we are reading this correctly, it seems to tell us that Babylon is falling, as Michael and his angels are casting down the serpent. The serpent is “not strong enough” to withstand this attack by Michael.
Coming now, shortly after the Kavanaugh confirmation to the Supreme Court, it appears that there has been a shift and that the balance of power has been tilted toward the heavenly side of this spiritual battle. Michael was first named when it became a tropical storm on October 7.
Kavanaugh was confirmed and sworn in as Supreme Court Justice late in the day on October 6.
The coincidence between these two events appears to link them, suggesting a cause-and-effect relationship. In other words, the Kavanaugh confirmation was the spiritual cause of the hurricane. That is, Michael was given the green light to attack the old serpent and cast him down. So if the hurricane hits Tallahassee tomorrow, we may conclude that October 10, 2018 is the day that “the accuser of our brethren has been thrown down, who accuses them before our God day and night” (Revelation 12:10).
It is hardly a coincidence, then, that Kavanaugh was being accused relentlessly prior to his confirmation, but that he ultimately won with 50 votes—the number of the Jubilee.
The Shift in the Battlefield
The problem is that according to the story in Revelation 12 the conflict does not end when the serpent is cast out of heaven. The battlefield simply shifts from the (second) heavens to the earth. Revelation 12:12 says,
12 For this reason, rejoice, O heavens and you who dwell in them. Woe to the earth and the sea, because the devil has come down to you, having great wrath, knowing that he has only a short time.
We, then, who dwell in the heavens, may rejoice, but those who remain attached to the earth are going to experience some “woe.” The overcomers can rejoice (Revelation 12:11), but it appears that the church (“woman”) will come under some persecution (Revelation 12:13). The serpent, or dragon, will continue “to make war with the rest of her offspring” (Revelation 12:17).
So we need to remain vigilant and understand that the battle is still ongoing. There is a lot of cleanup work to be done, because the threat is still among us. Nonetheless, I think we can claim Victory tomorrow, as we foresaw at our last Passover conference.
Another Trip Planned
For many months we have been planning to make a trip east to meet with friends this coming week end on October 12-14. Plans were finalized in the late Spring of 2018, and I can now see this trip in the context of Hurricane Michael. Coincidences tend to be God’s fingerprints, and I find it interesting that we would be leaving about noon on October 10, which is the same day and time that Michael is supposed to hit Tallahassee.
It should not surprise me, of course, that God would have some work to be done, hidden in a simple visit with friends. He does not seem to understand the concept of a vacation or a “secular” trip. He always has some ulterior motive that we discover at the last minute. It appears that we will be somewhere near the path of Michael as it curves northeast from Tallahassee (according to projected models). At this point, the real reasons for this trip are yet hidden from me, but that is alright. I will go and do whatever He says to do when I get there.
It is interesting also that the first day of our meeting, October 12, is the 414th day from Hurricane Harvey that hit Texas last year (August 25). Likewise, October 13 is 414 days AFTER Hurricane Harvey. I have wondered if there was a connection between this meeting and Harvey. We will see, but it is interesting that this comes in the context of a new hurricane (Michael).
At the present time, our eastern trip will be at least a week long, two days to get there, three days of meetings, and two more days to return home. However, we do know that we have another assignment nearby, though the timing of that assignment has not yet been revealed. So it is possible that we might be diverted for that special mission, and this may take another 2 or 3 days.
Making America Great
In addition to this, our oldest granddaughter (in Arkansas) is about to do her part to Make America Great Again. She is pregnant with our first GREAT grandchild, making us GREAT grandparents for the first time. Her due date was yesterday. If the baby does not come by next Monday, they plan to induce labor on the 15th. That is the day we plan to start heading home, unless we are diverted. We may have to make certain decisions while on the road, so we need to be flexible. At some point we do want to spend a couple of days with our granddaughter.
Whatever happens, you can be sure that our schedule will be full and that we will not have time to visit other people along the way. If this turns into a 2-week trip, I will have to return home as quickly as possible.
San Diego Conference January 25-27, 2019
We are planning to hold a conference at the Lafayette Hotel in San Diego, California, beginning early afternoon on Friday, January 25 and ending at noon on Sunday, January 27. Paperwork is being signed today.
It will be a “Joseph” conference. Room rates are $109/night. There will also be a “parking” fee of $18 per night. Guests may make reservations by calling the hotel at: 619-296-2101. To get the reduced room rate, tell them you are coming for the God’s Kingdom Ministries conference.
I will be the only speaker that most of you know. We will have two other speakers, who are from the San Diego area, who are helping sponsor this conference. We have reserved a block of 40 rooms.
It has been years since we had a conference in California. But this is the first in southern California since the Sonship conference in January 2001 with Elaine Cooke. This Joseph conference appears to be related to the previous Sonship conference, since “Joseph is a fruitful son” (literal translation of Genesis 49:22).
Details are still coming, so stay tuned for further developments.
