Trump vows to protect elections from hackers

Jul 28, 2018

The US elections have been hacked since the one in the year 2000, according to the hacker himself, who testified before congress a few years ago. He had been hired to write a software program to hack the voting machines, which he gave to a congressman from Florida. He was told that this software program was needed to PROTECT the voting machines, but later discovered that it was used to hack them.

I wrote more about this in my weblog for July 18, 2018.

In the 2016 election, however, the hack was stopped by those backing President Trump. That is why Hillary lost the election. Now in 2018 we face a similar problem. Trump is using the “Russia hackers” narrative as an excuse to again prevent the hacking of the US voting machines.

US President Donald Trump and the National Security Council (NSC) are discussing means of safeguarding local elections from hacks by foreign actors, the White House said Friday…

The President has made it clear that his Administration will not tolerate foreign interference in our elections from any nation state or other malicious actors," the White House said.'

Democratic elections are only as good as the honesty of the system itself. When people vote for one candidate, but the voting machine switches their vote to another, the system is rigged. Many have reported that in the last few elections. So perhaps this time such election fraud will cease.
