Dr. Paul Craig Roberts Interview
Mar 28, 2015
The latest interview with this former Treasury official under President Reagan comments on the Saudi invasion of Yemen, the nuclear accord with Iran, the situation in Ukraine, and the western nations joining AIIB and the end of US hegemony.
This is an excellent and helpful analysis of the important world news today.
By the way, when he speaks of “neocons,” he is referring to the political philosophy of Leo Strauss, who, in 1949 became a professor of Political Science at the University of Chicago some decades ago. Strauss died in 1973, but he influenced many politicians who later rose to power, including Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld, Paul Wolfowitz, John Bolton, Elliott Abrams, Richard Perle, and Paul Bremer.
His neoconservative teaching advocated (or at least resulted) in the idea of American “exceptionalism” which allows the US to intervene in the affairs of other nations. It is Power Politics, justified by the idea that if America does something, then it is right. Such an arrogant philosophy presumes the wisdom and justice of those giving the orders and presumes that all other opinions are wrong or unjust.
